Quick Trip: 8 Hours in London

Our flight to Bordeaux, France departed 8:30AM out of London Gatwick Airport, so we booked a hotel in Kensington for the night before and spent the afternoon in the city. We tried to jam pack as many monuments and must-see's into the quick visit, including the London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Oxford Circus and Covent Garden. Surprisingly, it was a gorgeous and sunny day in the typically gloomy United Kingdom.IMG_9928IMG_9942IMG_9958Oxford Circus (below) was particularly lively and and brimming with fellow tourists. Oxford Street is the premiere shopping street of London, lined with my favorite Euro stores like TopShop, MANGO, Bershka, H&M, Zara...IMG_9132DSCN3598IMG_0472The warm weather called for an afternoon scoop of ice cream in Green Park, and sushi for dinner. Yum! Sorry to the potential British readers, but we have had enough of heavy traditional food after our week in Cornwall... fish and chips, meat pies, more fish and chips...IMG_9962IMG_0003IMG_9992After watching the sunset from River Thames, it was time to return to our Kensington hotel and rest up for the early morning flight to Bordeaux! Next stop: Lacauau-Océan, France.
